Richárd Viesz is a cinematographer based in Budapest.

Richárd came to filmmaking from journalism, where he discovered his passion for visual storytelling. He holds a master’s degree in Cinematography from the Budapest Metropolitan University. During his studies he has gained experience working as an assistant camera and cameraman. Since then, he has worked on several television series, short films, theatre productions, stop-motion animation and documentaries as a cinematographer. His stop-motion animation (Narcissus and Echo) had its national premiere at the Cinefest IFF’s competition, and his first feature length documentary (Children of Tito) as Director of Photography was completed in 2024 and will be released in 2025.
